The idea behind this toy is great. My girls love the microphone and the sound effects. However, we returned ours due to the stand. It's supposed to be adjustable, but it just slides down. It also cuts in and out and you have to press one of the sound buttons to reactivate the microphone. I thought it was short circuiting, but there is a warning about this. Amazon was great about the return and I went with the Memorex Sing Stand so my girls can plug their ipods in and karaoke to real music.
I really like this microphone. I bought it for my 3 year old daughter and she loves it. It is very durable and it takes a lot of abuse. The only complaint that I have is with the pink tube that extends on the stand. It will NOT stay up. It is constantly sliding down. In order to keep it up my husband wrapped small rubber washers around both of the extension poles. that works very well and only cost 50 cents to remedy. Still, I think the company could do a little improving on the pole.
